How To Clean Heel Cracks at Home

Heels are the enemy of fashionable feet. Dry and sometimes painful, these heel fissures are common in senior citizens and people who are constantly standing on their feet. When your skin becomes dry due to cold weather, cracked heels are often the unsightly result. To get feet sandal-ready and smooth again, apply these home remedies to repair your cracked heels fast.

1.Massage your heels with sesame oil before going to bed. This is supposedly the best remedy for cracked heels













2.Mix glycerin and rosewater together and apply in on the heels daily. This soothes and cures cracked heels real quick.Take 1/4th bucket of water and squeeze one lemon in it, soak your feet in this and wash it with pumice stone and soap.  Do this twice a week.

3.Massage your feet with coconut oil every night. With the dawn, scrub and rinse off.
 
4.Make a mixture of lemon juice and papaya; apply it on the cracked heels. Let it be there for 20 minutes at least. Wash off after 20 minutes.Use banana pulp. Apply the pulp of a banana over the cracked heels. Leave the pulp on over the skin for 15 minutes, and then rinse it clean. This is a popular home remedy for cracked heels.

6.To exfoliate your feet you can make a natural scrub with honey, apple cider vinegar, and rice flour. To make the scrub take two to three tablespoon of ground rice, and then add a few spoons of honey and apple cider vinegar to make a thick paste. If the condition of the cracks on your heels is extremely bad, add a spoon of olive oil or sweet almond oil. First soak your feet in warm water for ten minutes and then gently scrub it with this paste to remove the dead skin around your feet. Soon you will have soft heels minus the cracks.


7.Applying vegetable oil on cracked heels can give good results. Also those having dry feet must use any kind of vegetable oil to stop getting cracks on their feet. You can use olive oil, sesame oil, coconut oil or any other hydrogenated vegetable oil to treat cracked heels. First scrub your feet with a pumice stone and wash it properly and then only apply vegetable oil on the heels and soles liberally. After that wear a pair of clean socks and then go to bed so that there is ample of time for the oil to penetrate on the skin properly. In the morning you will notice much softer heels. Repeat this remedy for a few days until your cracked heels are healed properly.

  • Wear the exact size of footwear. No thin soles and backed shoes please.
  • Moisturize your feet and specifically the heels.
  • Keep your feet clean. Scrub and Exfoliate them regularly.
  • Omega 3 and zinc deficiencies cause cracked heels, so make sure you don’t have these deficiencies.
  • Wash your feet every time you come home.
  • Use good creams and products for your feet too.
  • Use powder in your shoes and socks.
  • Walk on green grass.
  • Do not expose your feet to extreme climate i.e., extreme cold or extreme heat.
